Engage for Impact:National Youth Capacity Building Workshop on Global Fund Processes and Youth Engagement in ICCM
YOUNITE India successfully organised a two-day National Youth Capacity Building Workshop on Global Fund Processes and Youth Engagement in the India Country Coordinating Mechanism (I-CCM). The workshop brought together over 30 youth leaders from more than 20 states, representing diverse communities and organisations working on HIV, TB, malaria, and key population issues.
The workshop strengthened participants' understanding of Global Fund processes, health governance, community engagement, advocacy, and youth leadership. Through interactive sessions and stakeholder dialogues, young leaders enhanced their capacity to meaningfully engage in decision-making platforms and contribute to community-led health responses.
The event featured participation from key stakeholders, including UNAIDS, SAATHII, Alliance India, HLFPPT, KHPT, and Plan India, who emphasised the importance of youth leadership in shaping health policies and programmes. The workshop also provided a platform for youth-led organisations to showcase their work and foster collaboration across sectors.
This initiative marked a significant step in advancing meaningful youth participation and strengthening youth representation within national health governance and Global Fund-related processes.
NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP ON TB
YOUNITE India, in collaboration with the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), Fast Track the Cure by TB Alliance and MY Bharat, organized a National Youth Leadership Workshop on TB to strengthen youth engagement in India's TB response and build the capacity of young volunteers as community changemakers. The workshop brought together 80 youth leaders from 15 high TB-burden states, supported by 20 mentors, creating a dynamic platform for learning, leadership development, and collective action towards a TB Mukt Bharat.
The workshop aimed to equip MY Bharat volunteers and Youth Leaders with accurate knowledge on tuberculosis, India's TB scenario, community engagement strategies, and opportunities for meaningful participation in the National TB response. Through interactive sessions, participants enhanced their understanding of TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, stigma reduction, and the critical role young people can play in supporting national TB elimination efforts.
A key feature of the workshop was the group-based leadership exercise, where participants were divided into six teams and guided by experienced mentors. Each group developed and presented innovative strategies on how MY Bharat volunteers and Youth could become effective Ni-kshay Mitras and mobilize communities in support of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. These presentations fostered collaboration, problem-solving, and youth-led solutions to address challenges in TB awareness, treatment support, and community engagement.
The workshop successfully strengthened the capacity and confidence of young leaders to contribute to India's goal of eliminating TB by 2030. By promoting leadership, volunteerism, and community action, the initiative demonstrated the power of youth engagement in reducing stigma, supporting people affected by TB, and accelerating progress toward a TB-free India.
YOUNITE India Empowers Youth to Lead Health Advocacy at the National Level

In a strategic collaboration with the India Working Group for Health Advocacy, YOUNITE India hosted a transformative workshop titled “Creating Solutions Collectively”, aimed at building the capacity of community champions in health and political advocacy. This high-impact session equipped young leaders with critical insights into the HIV, TB, and Malaria landscape, unpacked health budget priorities, and introduced powerful tools for evidence-based advocacy, including a deep dive into the India Investment Case. The workshop marked a pivotal moment for YOUNITE India, as its youth champions emerged stronger, more informed, and better equipped to influence health policy and budgetary decisions at both the local and national levels. With this initiative, young people are not just participating—they are leading the movement to End TB, championing community-driven solutions and making their voices heard at decision-making tables.
